Hence the holiday home work has been prepared keeping these points in mind. The holiday home work being given is creative and thought provoking. It can be done with some guidance from you and the teachers who will brief the students. We would request you to avoid taking any professional help.

SUBJECT : ENGLISH
‘Summer Break’ is the time when without adhering to the school time table one can learn and express creativity. So, we have planned a refreshing and enriching home work for you :-
1. Roll No. 1 – 15
Prepare a wall hanging based on the parts of speech
• There must be one panel for each part of speech.
• These panels should be joined together with string or wool to enable the project to hang on a wall with ease. Refer to the illustration for more clarity given below :
• The panel should comprise of noun ; Pronoun ; adjective ; adverb ; verb only (with example)
• All panels must be well illustrated and decorated. (refer the following example)
OR
Make strips of five proverbs and five quotations (ten in all ) to be mounted on display boards.
• The quotations and proverbs must be hand written.
• A full sized pastel chart must be cut into three parts horizontally in order to obtain three strips (3-4 full sized pastel charts will be required for this assignment)
• The strips must be large enough to be displayed on class boards.
• The quotations and proverbs should be illustrated appropriately.
• The strips must be given beautiful borders.

Prepare a chart or a wall hanging showing your family photographs.
Describe each member in the following ways :-
• Personality
• Aims in life
• Nature
• Preference
Do it beautifully and acquaint us about your family in a creative way.
OR
History is rich with the examples of famous stories of kings and their witty ministers. In your course book of English you have read about ‘The Old Tirumala’
• Prepare a portrait (print-out, painting,or sketch) of any of your favourite Ministers.
• Cut it properly and paste it on a thermocol or any other hard material so that it can be displayed on the table.
• You need to write and describe the selected minister in a brief way or write an interesting anecdote in brief, to be displayed alongwith.
SUBJECT : SCIENCE

a) Case Study : Study the meal pattern of people of different age group Infant (0 –2 yrs), Child (Yourself) (10 – 12 yrs), Adult (30 – 40 yrs), Senior Citizen (60 and above) and any labourer (doing physical work) near your society. Collect information and record it in the following format.

3. Occupation Photo
4. How many meals are taken in a day.
5. Contents of the different meals
Meals Menu (List of items)
1. Early morning
2. Breakfast
3. Lunch
4. Mid afternoon
5. Evening Tea / Milk
6. Dinner
6. After recording all information, comment on the meals consumed (whether balanced or not, will cause deficiency disease or not and how it can be cured)

Collect five wrappers of different food items containing information on ‘Nutrient Content’ in it. Analyze the amount of different nutrients present in it and record the information in the table given below :-

Visit any nearby grocery / stationary shop / Big Bazar and prepare a report on a chart how the various materials have been arranged / catagorised there and what is the criteria of their categorization ? Paste pictures or photographs of different items in different section to make your report presentable.

Homework for Parents - Encourage your children to learn to cook*
All parents should teach their children to cook 1 new dish every week during
the summer break. This would make a total of 6-8 dishes throughout the summer
vacation. For each new dish learnt, the students should write down the name
of the dish, the ingredients and the recipe of the dish in their notebooks.
The students should also take pictures of all dishes and prepare a chart
to showcase them.
SUBJECT : SOCIAL STUDIES

• On a chart paper write ten important points of Rig Veda (Draw or paste pictures related to it)

• Diversity adds colour to life. It adds beauty to our culture. In a scrap book present beautifully the incredibility of our country and select any five states to showcase the following :-

c) Festivals d) Dresses – for men and women

Take a medium sized ball and cover it with chart paper. Draw the lines of latitudes and longitudes on a ball and highlight the important zones.

Paste the picture of the stages of man from a food gatherer to a food producer and various tools he used during these periods on a full chart paper and decorate it beautifully.

1. Roll No. 1 - 15
Prepare a Power Point presentation to show day and night, rotation and revolution.
2. Roll No. 16 till last
Paste the pictures showing National Anthem of India and its poet in a scrap file and write the names of the states and regions of India that are mentioned in it.
Compare any two states from the list with regard to the festivals, dresses and languages of the states.
SUBJECT : COMPUTER
1. Roll No. 1 - 15
• Create a chart / collage that would display new components of windows 7 desktop.
OR
• Create on attractive chart on secondary storage devices.
2. Roll No. 16 till last
• Do research on the history of ‘Internet’ and make a project file. Support your information with pictures, magazines clippings and diagrams.

• Create a poster that warns about Cyber Crimes and ways to avoid them.
SUBJECT : GERMAN

Make your family tree on a cut out (made on a card board) of a tree. Take help of your Lehrbuch.

SUBJECT : MATHS

Prepare a chart on any of the topics given below or if possible any other topic from your course book. Use pictures of real items to make it more interesting.
• Whole numbers and its properties
• Various types of polygons
• 3-D shapes
• Symmetry
• Pictograph
The chart should have proper margin and should be well made. Also learn and remember the information represented on the chart as the questions based on them will be asked during submission of Holiday Assignment.
2. Roll No. 16 – till last
Prepare a project “Money Money” :
• Collect pictures of currency of 5 different countries and Indian Currency.
• Also collect picture of various food items or things we buy from the market with money.
• Paste them in a scrap book. Then show for how much money of different countries we can buy, what amount or numbers of items.
.All the information should be represented with the help of pictures.
SUBJECT: HINDI AND SANSKRIT
